HCG - Human Chorionic Gonadotropin

HCG, or Human chorionic gonadotropin, which is derived from the urine of pregnant women, is an injectable drug available commercially in the United States as well as many other countries. Its function is to stimulate hcg vials gonadal steroid hormones by causing the production of androgens in the testis and also as a substitute for luteinizing hormone (LH) to stimulate ovulation. Among athletes, HCG is used to stimulate natural testosterone production during or (more usually) after a steroid cycle, which has caused natural production to be reduced or halted. Stopping a steroid cycle abruptly can cause a rapid loss in the athlete's newly acquired muscle, especially when endogenous androgens are absent. When HCG is used to stimulate natural production, a notably pronounced crash may be avoided.

HCG is always packaged in two different vials, one with a powder and the other with a sterile solvent. These vials need to be mixed before injecting, and refrigerated should any be left for later use. When stored at 2 to 15 degrees Celsius (36 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit), the reconstituted solutions are stable for 30 to 90 days depending on the manufacturer. Common dose is 2,000 to 5,000 IU injected intramuscularly (IM) every fifth day, starting the last week of the cycle and continuing for two to three weeks.

HCG Side Effects

Cautions: Side effects include mental depression and fatigue in 1 to 10% of users and gynecomastia, headache, restlessness, peripheral edema and irritability in less than 1% of users. Counterfeits of HCG do exist and should be avoided. More than one athlete has reported unpleasant side effects (fever, aches) due to an un-sterile fake so take caution.
