ok, just wanting to vent a little here. i ahve a severe pet-peeve with cats who train/walk-around the gym barefooted. for 1. its unhygenic. 2. its unsightly. 3. you run a higher risk of injuring yourself stupidly, i.e. stubbing your toes, and not that its going to make that much of a differenace but if you drop a weight on your feet it WILL hurt worse and youll probaly get blood every-fuckin-where. so in short unless your name is arnold and your from Austria....... keep your fucking shoes on!!!! nasty fucks

i agree too. I'm surprised they let anybody do it for liability reasons. The gym I worked at years ago had it in the contract that you must wear shoes, but I was in the gym yesterday and saw a lady doing leg presses with flip flops on.
Never seen bare feet though. That's just nasty!!! |

I'm sure the owner and or manager of the gym wouldn't allow the barefoot idiot through the door without shoes. I'd bring it up w/them.

Yes exactly, one must be very careful while exercising and must be properly wear their shoe as the reason stated above is really true to its evidence as one of my friend get injured his toe after dropping the weight on barefoot.. its horrible as that was the blood..be perfect and workout is the only safety portion.

Maan I don't know what to say. I have been wearing flip flops ,except leg day, during the summer for years. I like the feel of barefoot while wearing them. I never felt it was dangerous, If I drop a wieght on my barefoot or one with 1/8 inch of cover it will ruin my day. Indeed, statistically, the most common injurie in the gym is a foot injury. Our gym is hard core and no one would make noise about it. A gym I go to on weekends, however, is not hard core, they have not said anything. As far as having ugly old white man feet, I was in martrial arts for years, we always went barefoot. At first I was embarased by my feet. I went on a vigourous campain to clean up the look and scrubbed the shit out of them in the shower every day, after about a year my nails all where white and good looking.
