hey guys im thinking of changing my training routine up and was thinking of adapting something like a dorian yates or mike mentzer style of training, a couple of warm up sets followed by 1 all out set to failure.Ive never training like this before, just wondering if any of you have and if you were happy with the gains you made.Any kind of advice on this would greatly be appreciated

I've read that any training that incorporates muscle failure will be beneficial. The key is to REALLY make the muscle fail and that usually requires a good spotter. It's easy to lift too light when doing this, surprisingly. Anyway, I do know that the warmup sets are crucial to prevent injury and strictly proper form is key to success as well.

yes, this is called DC training.

if you are able to get your hands on Dorian Yates Blood and Guts video and David Henry Xtreme Measures video then you will see first hand of it in action.

also, this here website has good info on it:

Just type it in dorian yates blood and guts under Google video and it pops up the whole vid. Watched it several days ago, I will scan a section before going to gym it gets me ready for WO.

Bro you can pretty much never go wrong as long as you keep changing it up, IMO you should change it up every 6-8 weeks

How about warm up sets. Then 3 heavy sets ,then one drop set to failure. This is how I train. Normally I do 6 drops during the drop set...

you wont go wrong with this mate Really
any more than 1 work set to failure is over kill ...............what benifit can it possibly have if you have already TRULY trained to failure ..................none and it will also cause over training rapidly.
