No you dont know what asssisted means. It means he wearing a bench shirt which is probably giving him approx 100-150 pounds that he couldnt do without wearing the bench shirt. Assisted division means bench shirts squat suits and deadlift suits. Some guys get 300 + pounds from a bench shirt. Its a whole different division in powerlifting. raw lifts vs assisted lifts. Im not trying to belittle the guy i was just making you guys aware

Yes I know what assisted means.
Yes i know it was assisted , it was still awesome.
I also thought it was obvious he was wearing a bench shirt ....just by watching his stiff posture and movements.

I second you supy they really need to decide somewhere to either sanction lifts as assisted or Raw. I am much more impressed by raw lifts.

    whats wrong with both.
You can have meets with both surely
Raw and Assisted .........................and each to thier own..live and let live.

I agree though that RAW is more respected.......... but leave the assisted alone if thats what they want to do.

    No need for prejudice .
People have the right to do it assisted or not, so what if they can lift more with a bench shirt............if thats what keeps that particular party happy and they are not bothering anybody, whats wrong with that.
this kind of prejudice is pretty petty I think.

Thanks UR. I most certainly wasnt trying to start any confrontations here was just merely explaining the difference for those who dont understand. I happen to agree with UR if i cant do why get under it. Again this is just MY OPINION. I do happen to know the guy who is in the videos and he is is very well know/ respected in the PL community and also a successful gym owner operator/trainer. He was just the announcer at a huge meet on the west coast last week which just happend to be an alll RAW meet.

Hey Supy, as most know, alot of us mid level to top level bodybuilder often engage in power lifting in the offseason, thats where so many of us obtain out size and strength from. I have a huge load of friends who are plyers, and some like shirts and others dont, most of all the meets I have ever been in or gone are raw, This is not to take ways from anyone, I also feel if you dont powerlift, whether you go at it raw or with a shirt, than why comment against my remarks when I have every right to my opinion, Their is no bette feeling than pushing the huge poundages FUCKING RAW.. oohh what a rush!

p.s I happen to be on the west coast right now. Again good shit Supy.Keep being the type of guy and dad you are. Hell I would be proud of you too if I was your son,, seriously folks dont know what its like to have a dad fit and strong, and could protect the fam at a heartbeat.

So, do shirts/suits prevent injuries or allow injured to recover faster? Can't imagine how they came into use... BTW, I didn't know the difference either between raw/unassisted. Seems like a big psychological aid having the shirt/suit. I think it's good to have two divisions. They have the similar divisions in open water swimming races: wet suit or just bathing suit. Sorry to jack the thread.

you did nothing wrong, but it does stike me as confusing when the post below saids we all have our opinion, but in the post, he attacks me for mine, and calls my post prejudice, and than minimizing it and say I started it, I will continue to state my opinion and will never take from someone, others in the thread who are powerlifters do the same thing as i , but im the one picked out and criticized, Rep if you have a problem with me, Please pm me brother, their is no need to continue to chase me on this board and post negative after me all the damn time. Pm me if you have something to say, so that we can keep it off the board. Thanks

this kind of prejudice is pretty petty I think.
