    Default building muscle

Hey bros(and sisters). I was reading something on the net about building muscle and I wanted to get your take on it. To summarize, we all know that to build muscle tissue, you have to shock the muscle, or have it do something it didn't do before. But what I read was this: basically, do a warm up set, then do 1 set to failure. That's it. It said because the muscle has already lifted the weight, its pointless to do another set, because you are no longer shocking the muscle. It said that any other sets beyond the first one, and you are just cutting into recovery time. What do you guys think??

THis is basically the old Heavy Duty principle from Mike Mentzer.
Bottom line, there is no single training method that will provide continuous gains-you have to mix it up every few months to keep the body guessing, from heavy duty to supersetting to full body workouts

ive heard and read before that lifting super light weights for tons of reps is very pointless though. Many think this type of training will "cut" you up. They said the mind knows before the lift that the weight is light, and will not let the muscle work itself hard on the lift. They say if the weight is heavy, the mind automatically tells the muscle before the lift to exert a lot of energy on that particular lift since it will be straining to lift, push, or pull the heavy weight.

i 110% believe its mind over matter brother. There are so many bodybuilders who have proved that theory over the years. Arnold only curled 60lb dumbells and he had 23 inch arms i think. Now they say he could straight bar curl 275 pounds etc, but he said there was no sense to train like that, he said mind to muscle concentration was far more important....

Life is tough. It's even tougher if you're stupid
    Stupidity should be painful

Crawling is acceptable. Falling is acceptable. Puking is acceptable. Tears are acceptable. Pain is acceptable. Injury is acceptable. Quitting is unacceptable

To dominate one must be physically, mentally, and spiritually stronger than their opponent. Then, domination is guaranteed.

Nobody said it was easy. No one ever said it would be this fukin hard either!

If im a danger to myself just think what the fuck I can do to you!
