I found high reps are the way to go with calves-20 rep leg raises, you can barely walk and are stiff for days afterwards.

Hammer curls
reverse curls Bump Yohimbe on high reps for calves usually 20- 30 reps for me

No one ever said it would be this fukin hard either! If im a danger to myself just think what the fuck I can do to you! |

i always use the smith machice with a 35 on each side while standing on a couple boards do 4 sets till failure then take a minute rest.on the last set take the weights off and do it as many times as you can without a rest i promise your calves will be the most pumped they have every been. just ask mike he will tell you this works

bump to that, i use the smith machine, load 4 ten lb plates on each side. I do 15 reps than pull 1 ten pounder off each side and repeat process until nothing is left but the bar. If your calves dont grow like that they are just doomed!

i think these two bodyparts have a lot to do with genetics. i've blasted both for years with not really great results. i reckon they are muscles that are used the most in everyday life so you can train them a lot. i hit em both every workout. usually seated calf raises (mix it up with drop sets and low reps, high reps) and smith raises in the same way. forearms i do the old school wrists curls sitting on bench with with forearms on legs and curl up and then i do hammer curls sometimes and use one of those twist deals that has a rope and you put a plate on the bottom and twist it up and down.
still two muscle groups that give me trouble. UGH

I've been using one of these power ball gyro things for about 6 months. These things are really effective. I've had stubborn gains w/the forearms/calves too. This thing has made a difference for me w/the forearms. I recommend getting the very basic model w/out any add ons. You can get these on Amazon too, but here's the manufacturer's site: http://www.powerballs.com/

Everyone will blast me but here it is,,,, either you got hem or you don't! End of story....I never ever ever work calves and forearms I just naturally have very good development in these areas. I have seen friends over many years try to little or no avail work them tirelessly. I am not saying you can't get shape and size through weight training but for these two muscle groups your better off hitting squats (calves) and deads (forearms). It's in the genetics....

bump to g, i know guys who never train forearms and calves. Actually have a guy who walks in the gym weighing about 140 pounds maxxed out. He is probaly 5'9 inches. He runs thats it, but his calves are massive. They are so thick you can see his calves when he is walking towards you head on. Guaranteed his calves are way bigger around than his arms. I feel also if you are doing a lot of hammer curls etc, you are pumping the forearm up.
