Default leg day

So since I broke my back in 2002 Ive always gone light on squats and deadlifts...just to worried. Well with the inspiration of supys training log I decided to start getting a lil heavier with deadlifts just to test my back out. Last week I ended with 335 at 7 reps with no probs and my back feels better than ever(may not be alot to some of you guys but considering...) Anyway so I decided to go heavy with squats today after leg presses and everything was still feelin good. I ended with 315 for 8 extremely painful reps. Started gettin light headed and 30 seconds later I puked! I dont know why but for some strange reason Im proud of the puking lol Supy watch out...here I come...

Was repairing an exhaust fan on a 5 story building. Was able to walk the pitch of the roof so I didnt tie myself off. It started sprinkling so eventually I started sliding. As I was sliding I thought to myself Id just grab the gutter and hang until help came but the momentum and my weight ripped it right off.. of course. The good thing is it straightened my fall and I landed on a concrete balcony 3 stories down rather than going out at an angle, missing the balcony, and falling the extra 2 stories onto the parking lot.

Holy shit! I couldn't even imagine that. I worked for a chimney company for 1 day once. They wanted me up on this roof of a 3 story house and the angle of the roof was steeper than I felt comfortable scaling so I refused to go up. Their method of not falling off the roof was to wear shoes with good grip.....assholes!

Haha yeah you get use to it but I got in a hurry and got careless. The worse part (and ironic) is I was with my safety manager on the roof with the safety harnesses to the side in a pile lol.He was a hyper guy so after I fell and he found me finally he kept bumping my legs and hips. My sciatic nerve was slightly cut from the crushed vertabrae so everything felt like it was literally on fire. I told him to get the f'k away from me lol. It was an independent living/nursing home and some old lady lived in the apt. with the balcony so she comes out and covers me up with a blanket that smelled like she had been pissing on it for a few months....worse experience ever!

This is how i prevent the ralphing i squat early am on Fridays usually done by 6 am. I eat a bowl of oats or a small piece of fruit 1 hr prior no protein. I do however take my White Flood or jack3d with 10 grams of BCAAs 30 mins prior. I find tthat with me as long as i dont take protein im good to go. I did come real close 2 weeks ago when i deadlifted 405 for 16 or 17 reps i was at the basement sink and my head was spinnin..lol

Yes very lucky considering there was only 3 balconys on that side and they were only about 8ftx10ft and the building was about 75yards long

Thats not a bad idea. Would certainly work the supporting muscles around the fusion and plates and get em ready for the heavier weights. Im just hoping now that Im going heavier the bolts dont start workin themselves out. Guess Ill find out.

the point of my suggestion was you don't need to go heavy to get big legs. your already hurt and there is no reason to push it to the point you can never lift again. when you can get 4 set of 315 for 20 reps, than you can thank me cause your legs are bigger and than only than you can go up in weight. I have seen on this site and many other where someone back has put them out of the gym for a long time or still out of the gym.

Big bump to WW-a few pounds on the squat aren't worth putting you out indefinitely

Point taken and good advice. I think I might try this and take out leg presses for the time being. Maybe some heavy leg curls and extensions after squats.

yea bump WW on that. the 20 rep sqauts, deadlifts and legpresses seperate the REAL men from the boys.
I had to give up squats because of lower back probs 3-4 years ago now. i now do lazy leg presses LOl.
any way my best was 300lb for the 20 reps.at 50 years of age..never puked but nearly blacked out a few times.LOL

I dig the enthusiasm Brew! Just go slowly up in weights. Imagine the tragedy of a new injury/surgery. Easy does it killer
