Lightbulb Training Partner ?

I have been having to pump by myself since May.Sometimes 1 x a week I 'll train with a buddy of mine.I know my gains would be much better if I had a training partner.I would like for you guys to share your personal feelings on training with or without a partner?

Ive been training alone 90% of the time the last 4 yrs.
Once you get used to it its fine. The only time/times i miss a partner is when trying 1 rep max on the bench

Dont get me wrong if i had my choice id have one but it is what it is for me i train to early for most people

Bump Supy most of my time working out has been without a workout partner. workout partners come in handy, but they're not a must to get a good workout. what is needed without a workout partner is a power rack, that way you can push yourself and have the power rack spot you

I haven't had a training partner since college. I'd love to have one to spot & check form, etc. I think we'd all be stronger with a good training partner. An impossible task with a busy schedule unless you train at the same time of day and the other guy can do the same. I'd have trouble scheduling someone b/c I have to drop into the gym at odd times often.

been training by myself mostly for the past 13 years. i have run through a few training partners who quite frankly just couldnt hang. sucks.
so i train alone for the most part. its more mind over matter (as with most thangs in this world)

I've never had a training partner. I only have 2 friends who train and one isn't even dedicated and doesn't take the time to learn how to do it effectively. The other has his own way of doing things which doesn't match my training style at all. We are on different schedules anyway. I prefer my solitude in the gym anyway. I focus better and I have no trouble amping myself up. I don't need a cheerleader. As long as your gym has a rack as WW mentioned, you shouldn't ever even need a spotter. Although, it is easier to ask for a spot than it is to set up the rack on bench press.

Bump WW
I train on my own as well and have done for most of the 12 odd years i have been training now.
Partners are okay but to get one as commited as what you are yourself is hard to come by ,,ones I have had from time to time always come up with feeble excuses (about 2 hrs before training usually) why they cant make it on whatever night, not often mind ..maybe once a month or so but it still pisses you off because you then cant get that help at the end. I now train at home again anyway and absolutely no one is going to respect your home gym the way you do. No F**ker touches my machine or free weights......... NO ONE !!!LOL

I had a training parter about six months ago, for about a year. An overweight guy I was helping. It was pretty good. One of the best parts was because he was inexperienced, it was really do what I say and he wouldn't question it. Sometimes you can have someone who questions you or wants to do this or that when you don't want to.
But now I train by myself, and like it. When I go heavy and need a spotter I just ask someone. It's a pain sometimes but I hate going heavy without one.

I have had partners and I have worked out alone. For the most part its hard to find someone who is on the same schedule. Right now I have a partner about 90% of my workouts which is really nice.

Wow I am really surprised on this one guys. I would have naturally thought the majority of yous had a TP. Seems thats the minority. I too have trained alone for the past 5-6years I made my biggest gains alone but if you get the right TP you can make the big gains. I have trouble only on Chest working alone so usually I have another gym rat spot me otherwise I lift light and stay safe.

Bump this i thought id be the minority seems like were the majority(no partner). Once you get used to it its a piece of cake i use my smith machine which has what they call gun racks on the outside to use free weights and has a spot to rerack the weight approx. evry 4 -5 inches. It works for me as ageneral rule i know what i can handle and when im ready to move up the weight. If i get nervous about something i just have the wife come down for a spot, but then i always want to lay her down on the bench and do the NASTY....lol

no training partner here also... wish i had one though. I had one when i first started training. He was a beast, had been training for 10 years at least. It was frustrating having someone so much bigger and stronger than myself, but also a good tool to push me and push me. also learned a lot from him. Ive just learned ways to workout without one. I recently told a good bud of mine if he would just train with me, exactly how and when i wanted, id give him all his aas free. Well that lasted one week and he pussed out and couldnt hang lol

Thumbs up I train alone, Mr.T Rocky III

When I was lifting heavy it was almost a necessity to my training. Now I'll do more concentrated movements.I give props to my man supy, for lifting heavy alone. That's dedication!Check out his training log its extremely amazing.I am at it alone but if you have a bad partner is sucks anyway.I've just been in a little rut lately.I 've got to train through it.

Hey, Woman. Hey, Woman! Listen here. Since your old man ain't got no heart, maybe you like to see a real man. I bet you stay up late every night dreaming' you had a real man, don't ya? I'll tell you what. Bring your pretty little self over to my apartment tonight, and I'll show you a real man.
