i think it depends on your hand placement for your pushups. but bench and close grip bench should do the trick (lower weight, higher reps), you're looking for muscle endurance with pushups...

do your body weight for reps on the bench press. building your chest, tri's, and shoulders will help your push ups.

Half reps could help too. Use barbell bench and come all the way down w/the bar but only go half way up. It strengthens the weakest part of the range of movement. Use a lighter weight than normal because you'll be able to do less reps. Guys use this sometimes to break through a plateau on the bench so I'm sure it would help push ups too.

When I was in military I was push-up champ the damn DI got tired before I did. My trick was low body weight 140# and hand placement. If you place hands directly besides nipples you can almost bounce up and down with very little effort. I could easily get 100 without any fatigue. There must be more to it than that but for me it was really that simple. I remember seeing others really struggle and 9 times out of 10 their hands were placed too far out placing undue stress on pecs, move them in and slightly down you can really get the rocking going between front delts and tris. There is very little pec use if done like this. You can almost rise off feet placing all weight on upper body.
