    Default John Little's Max Contraction Training

    Anybody heard of this? I got the max contraction video for free and its all about doing the exercises with no ROM and just holding more than your max weight at max contraction until negative to failure. Anybody actually tried this and got any gains? I am going to mix this up in my routine and see if i get over this plateau

    For example if your max weight with leg extension is 220, set the weight at about 260 and hold it at max contraction as long as possible

    I know its just static contractions lol. I think its crazy that john little claims you do this full body exercise once a week for 10 mins lol

    Oh ya i am a big fan of drop sets. Ill dedicate 1 week out of the month for drop sets. I like to do a variety of different types of lifting just to be safe

    Wish i had a list of studies done proving different methods.

    just gave it a go today. Did 4 sets of about 150% my max on the pec fly machine. Was able to hold it for the full 30 seconds each time. Tomorrow if i am sore i am sore :P

    I dont get caught up in fag/ fad workouts created by virtually UKNKOWNS and as ive stated below STUPIDITY should be painful

    This type of training was very popular at my gym a couple of years ago. I tried it a few times but I found it put tremendous unnecessary load on my lower back so I stopped. Some of the trainers used this technique on themselves and their clients with no significant changes and lots of injuries. Going to failure and drop sets are the way to go.

    ya it did jack shit for me on my chest day and it put alot of strain on my joins. I was on the fly machine
