I havent done JM Presses for a long time. Wow do they feel good. They are a great way to strengthen your bench and add thickness to your lowest part of the tricep. Killer exercise that 99% of people don't know about.

You are joking right? My power lifting friend I am so happy to tell you. Its basically a cross between a close grip bench and a skull crusher.

Here is the man Dave Tate explaining it -

YouTube - Elitefts.com: ONE Movement - JM Press

Here is him demonstrating with a smith machine. I like using the smith for this.

I can see why you prefer the smith machine. I can also see why he uses wrist straps, looks like it puts a good deal of stress on the wrists w/free weights.

I went up to 245lbs on the smith today with no wraps for 8 reps. Wrists are slightly sore now. But I haven't done these in forever so I think that may be it. Plus I did reverse grip BP. Give them a try next time and let me know how you like them.

Never seen anyone ever do these and i workout at the most hardcore powerlifting gym in the USA (QUADS) where we have 2 900 pound benchers and Ed Coan coaching everyone and at least 20 record holders. I looked up the vid yesterday it looks a little goofy to me like a cross between a CGBP and and a skullkrusher not sayin it doesnt help, just cant believe no one does em here. David Tate is awesome and i know Brian Schwab so now im pissed and i will try em Sat after we bench

Tried em and so far not too bad on my elbows although i only went up to 120 free weight( after some heavy singles on the bench last Saturday). I will try em for a while longer til i get the hang of em and see whats up.
