Default Anabolic window PWO and cardio

So, I've been on Palumbo for the last few months and have been steady doing cardio in the am on an empty stomach and also after lifting for maximum fat burning. It's been really effective, I've cut down to 9% and I started around 18% give or take, so I'm pleased.

Anyway, I know there's an "anabolic window" immediately PWO, where it's essential to take in the proper nutrients and carbs to feed your depleted muscles. I know that window is anywhere from 15-60 min depending on who you talk to, but my question is, does a cardio session following lifting affect this? For example, say I get done lifting and go do 30 min of cardio then I go home and have my PWO shake. By doing that, would I have missed out on the opportunity to replenish my muscles, or did that window stay open when I was doing cardio?

The reason I ask all this is bc I'm going back to focusing on putting on more mass now that summer is over. I wanna try to stay lean (easier said than done I know) so I'm just assessing my options as far as cardio goes. I will be doing 3-4 am sessions a wk on an empty stomach, but if I have to, I'll add some after lifting.

    Big Bump.

I've always wondered the same thing. For awhile, I would drink an RTD between lifting and cardio, but I didn't know whether it was helping.

Same here from everything ive read id say to down the drink with fast carbs immediately following cardio and you should be fine. Ive also read that a protein only drink between lifting and cardio is fine too then carbs after cardio. So who the fuck really knows....lol Just as long as you take it as soon as you can

its best to bring your shake to the gym, so you can drink it as soon as your done. I wouldn't bring it mixed, just mix it once your done and than drink. protein is a must for every meal or shake, carbs and fat are optional depending on your goals.

I have read more than once to avoid cardio upon completion of your workout as you stand the risk of going catabolic and scavaging priceless muscle in the process. You should do cardio on a different day. I you wish to burn fat do cardio in the morning when your carbohydrates are depleted and your body has little choice but to burn fat. also upon waking you should put a little something in your stomach before the cardio session, this will avoid the tendency for your body to signal possible famin and store fat.

Why would mixing it be bad? Does whey de-activate or something?

Chisel, how would an am cardio session cause fat storage if you're in a fasting state? If there's nothing to digest and transport, I don't understand how that could happen. Are you talking about post cardio when a meal is eaten? I'm also talking about long duration low intensity cardio btw, not an intense session or anything.

yes it can degrade on you. best to take everything fresh as you can get it and in this case as soon as you can after training.

Chisel is talking about going catabolic, cause you haven't eaten in the allotted time. the goal is to avoid going catabolic.
