    Default P90X Ab workout

So, I trained w/a dude last Thursday who ran me through the ab workout from P90X. First, it's not easy and second it's well worth the effort.

My abs weren't that sore the next day, but my hip flexors were sore for 3 days. I still feel them today after a brutal leg workout yesterday.

Has anyone else done this routine? Curious to hear other's input and opinions...

It's the balancing that strains the muscles IMO. Those complex movements get more than just the abs and most of them hit the flexors. It's almost as much of a hip/upper leg workout as it is an abdominal workout. Any training is good training w/the core/abs IMO, so I'm going to do it a few times a week until I can do it w/out struggling so much.

Haven't done the abs, but have done other works in there. THey are pretty decent and a nice change.

Ab workouts are over done in my opinion. I do them after my shoulder workout in about 5 minutes.

If it was offseason I'd probably do a bit more rest with weights, but right now I just work them enough to give them a workout.

Don't forget a lot of your basic exercises are hitting the abs.

I ignored the abs for years, hitting them regularly now. I like the pain Admin's right Def get ab work w/other exercises.
