Further study is required to confirm the validity of this study, according to the article. The study only included 12 AAS users and 7 non-users in their 40's. The author of the study also shows his bias in the last paragraph. With enough money we could commission a study to "indicate" any cause/affect relationship we like.

Good thread Thug, it's important we stay informed even if it's news we don't like to read.

It also said these guys were on for 9 years. It didn't say whether or not they cycled.

Heart disease is one of the leading killers anyway isn't it? Show me something steroid users have a problem with that doesn't already kill millions of people indiscriminately lol. Besides, if I cycle I figure I'll have 18 years before I'm like these guys lol.

I was reading a thread on PM and there are 4 guys that have had heart attacks, one of them died at 32, the other guy I was chatting to was 38.
All happened the same way, blood clot that lead to a heart attack

The common factor is staying on high doses for long periods of time and the effect this has on hemocrit levels.
Cycling is crucial, even if on trt, you must cycle and then drop to the trt dose as if you were cycling normally.

Yohimbe,
I donate blood every couple months. I try to give double reds when they'll take them. What is your opinion on that?

I guess it depends on the way you read the question. There are only two questions that would pertain to most of us here. One is are you taking propecia/finasteride? Two, do you take steroids or any other injectable drugs not prescribed to you by your doctor? I am on TRT prescribed to me by my doctor. Even if you didn't want your blood to go to someone else, you can choose to have the blood destroyed.

Thats a good idea-I must start as well.
The guy I was chatting to said that he went to get his hemocrit levels checked just before he had the heart attack and they were off the chart, so he donated blood and levels came down quite dramatically, but it was too little too late.

He wasn't even running high doses, but it was the length of time he was on-2 years on 400-500mg per week.

Are you donating to lower your red levels, to give to charity or to raise $? Just curious. WOndering why anyone would request to destroy the donation...

To lower red levels to thin the blood out a bit-because the gear increases the red blood cell count and makes the platelets more sticky, so the risk of a blood clot increases.
This is why cycling is important and not running high doses over a long period.

Mass, what TRT doses are you on?

Donate for free. You can request the blood be destroyed after you leave the donation center. They would rather you have it destroyed than give someone shit blood. I think there is a box to check on the computer test that says you want the blood destroyed. The center never knows.

Instead of going through all that, couldn't you just draw some blood on your own instead of wasting their time just to have it destroyed? It's not hard to do. Just a thought. I wouldn't be able to donate anyway due to tattoos unless of course I lied. You're supposed to wait a year after your last inking.

I don't destroy mine, but some guys choose to do that. Screw drawing my own blood! Sometimes I put leaches all over my body though. Lol

LMAO! Nice. I would do it. I have a good stomach when it comes to blood. I performed surgery on myself once to remove a piece of chipped bone from my elbow. My wife puked afterwards because I made her hold the pliers while I cut the cartildge away from the chip. Healed quite nicely. If I wasn't such a derelict, I probably would make a good surgeon.

I'm a do it yourselfer lol! It was nothing. It took like 10 minutes and a couple shots of Vodka. I had to get it out. Every time I would put my elbow on a table or something the chicklet sized chip would be pushed back into the spot it broke away from and hurt like a bitch. It was just floating underneath the skin but I didn't realize it was still connected by cartilidge until I was already in there. Last time I went to the dentist, I took a vial of Articaine in case I ever have to do something like that again this way I can numb it up first lol.

No but I might now that the idea is in my head lol. You know what's funny, is that doing that didn't bother me at all except for the pain, but the first time I did an IM injection, I got light headed lol.

I may squirt it all over myself and lay on the bathroom floor and wait for my wife to find me and pretend to be dead lol. Nah, I would just shoot it into the toilet if I did it. The question is, how much how often?

Surprise lol. You could have a CD that you know skips playing in the bathroom with you and just skipping in one place over and over again and then she comes to investigate why you're not doing anything about it and BAM, dead on the floor! That would be a good time lol.

One pint whole blood every two months. If you give double reds, it's four months.
