Jose Canseco: Last Shot

so i happened to catch a show on Bio channel called Jose Canseco: Last Shot. it was him these days and how he wanted to stop taking steroids. wanted to share some info from the show with y'all.
he went to his doctor to have his testosterone levels checked with no steroids in his system. his results-

total test level = 110 doc said normal was 350-950
free test level = 2.6 ... normal = 5-40

doc gave him topical andro gel to rub on his body. after one month of use his total test level only went up to 146.

he still has some size but i'm not impressed. and he said his sex drive is non-existant.
at the end of the show it said that he was busted at Mexican border trying to bring in HCG. what a dumbass.

seeing the show struck my interest into reading his popular book "Juiced", so i got me a copy to read. just wanted to quote a few things from it;

"What you need to do is to absorb every scrap of information and insight on the subject- to become an expert on the subject, the way i did."

"I was known as the godfather of steroids in baseball. I introduced steroids into the big leagues back in 1985, and taught other players how to use steroids and growth hormone."

"Today, I probably know more about steroids and what steroids can do for the human body than any layman in the world."

"Growth hormone? You can use that all year round. Same thing with your Equipoise, your Winstrols, your Decas- taken properly, those are fine all year round."

"Barry Bonds was nearby, and when he saw me, he just stood there and stared. I weighed about 255 at that point, and I was just shredded with veins."


so if he is such an "expert" and all, why has his test levels crashed? age? not cycling properly? almost sounds like he maybe stayed on gear all the time. i guess i just don't want to end up like that in the future with low low test levels. your thoughts?

i still have the movie in my dvr. all that money and fame, and to rat on your friends. he had the world by the balls. i still feel bad for the bro, i think he had no knowledge of gear. if he had , he would of been better off. happy new year brothers.

bump. I honestly think that everyone is created differently. The use of aas for some will greatly effect them later on in life, where as others will never see hardly any negative sides from it.

I sat down with an ex nationally competitive bodybuilder. He lives in my hometown, he is a chiropractor now. I asked him how to get big. His exact words were this......... "start off by taking 1500mg of test cyp every week. take that for 6 months straight, than ramp it up to 2000mg. Take 100mg of anadrol a day also, and eat like a maniac."

He juiced like that for almost 7 years. He could have went pro, but decided to finish college and become a chiropractor instead. When he looked at the amount of aas he was going to have to take to go pro, he decided to go finish college instead.

He is now 43 years old. He told me when he quit taking all the juice, his test levels were garbage for about 6 months. They eventually came back, and he is 100% healthy now at 43, and still looks great. He does not regret ONE DAY of his aas career. He never ran any pct, wasnt heard of back than......

On the other side, i know a guy who juiced 4 years while playing college football. He cycled on and off like he was supposed to, used proper pct. He is 31 years old now and on TRT because his natural test levels are shot.... he will be on trt the rest of his life.

and thanks mega, good info. guess everyones bodies are different. gives me hope for the future. though pumping in all that gear right now sounds good though too

I'm not sure where I read this maybe even on this board. Someone said it's the cycling that is hard on the hpta rather than the constant usage.

To associate the shut down from deca and winstrol shows he didn't know much. You stay on deca year round and your test levels are going to be shot.

And to say you can stay on winstrol year round-your liver will pack up. Thats the problem with self proclaimed experts, and you'll get some 18 year old reading it and thinking if he said it it must be ok. And then ends up on trt at 25 and needing a liver transplant at 30.

Never rely on one persons opinion-get at least 10 opinions, with some medical opinions not from a steroid board, before making a decision on something.

So funny that I posted in this thread and didn't remember. Alzheimer's setting in, obviously. Anyway, I now do believe what he's said and what he said in the video. I think he's a VERY stupid, shy jerk. He acted emotionally w/out any concern for the unintended consequences and now he's paying w/his life. No one likes a snitch. He now completely regrets writing the book and says it was the biggest mistake of his life... That and the steroids. Without the steroids the guy never would have played baseball at the Jr. College level. He admits as much in the film. BEing a moron was his biggest mistake, steroids made him rich.

yes i have read book and is part of reason why i started this here thread. book is ok. he talks very openly about steroid use of both him and other players. he is very arrogant in book to say the least. worth a read a guess.
