Maen Odeh, a citizen of Jordan residing in the United States on a conditional residence visa, was busted attempting to import anabolic steroids from overseas. The steroid parcel was intercepted at JFK International Airport as a result of the package being damaged during transit. The bad luck that befell Mr. Odeh with the damaged package was only the beginning.

U.S. Customs and Immigration officials in Dallas notified the Grapevine Police Department in Texas of the steroid shipment destined for Mr. Odeh. The local police set up a controlled delivery on Tuesday. Mr. Odeh accepted the package and was immediately arrested. A search of his apartment resulted in the recovery of additional anabolic steroids (”Jordanian arrested on steroid-related charges in Grapevine,” September 5).

Federal authorities in New York contacted Dallas ICE officials several days ago saying they had discovered a damaged parcel that contained the steroids. The parcel was addressed to Odeh, police said Friday.

Grapevine police were notified on Aug. 28 that the package would be delivered between Tuesday and Friday.

Police said the parcel was delivered Tuesday night and Odeh was arrested a few minutes later.

Initial reports suggest that the anabolic steroids were intended only for personal use; Odeh has been charged with 12 counts related to steroid possession. However, officials are still investigating whether Odeh intended to distribute the steroids to others.

“At this time, we don’t know if he was shipping it somewhere else, using it or what,” Smith said.

A greater concern for Mr. Odeh may be the status of his conditional residence visa. At least one report suggests that Odeh obtained his visa as a result of a marriage to a U.S. citizen within the last two years; however, Odeh was identified as the only occupant and resident of the Grapevine apartment where he lived.

The criminalization of the personal use and importation of anabolic steroids continues to disrupt the lives of steroid users.

this is congrats for a police force that wasted many thousands of dollars and many man hours busting a guy who probablily spent 500 dollars or less.... good job guys , but i wonder while this was happening how many people were murdered in texas or raped or how many little kids overdosed on major drugs... i bet alot but atleast they got the terrible guy who would have done damage to his left or right glute later that day, what a crime!!!

I have it in my computer...it does goes slower when I use it, but hey....if it does work...I rather surf slower knowing I'm protect...

No, I'm not sure that it does work.....but, since I use it in my office computer...I haven't had any complains from the Tech guy that works in our computers there at the office, and I had warned me once before I had it because I was getting into sites that I was not supposed to or using the MSN messenger without permission.

Now, what I use while at the office is:
