I feel you. I was a herion addict. Seen my town turn to shit friends die. Used to be a great place to live now u have to lock ur doors etc. Why aren't the dea trying to save my town and friends. Where are the headlines. It destroys lives does aas do the same. No it gets hopeless people in the gym like me. Rebuilds ur self esteem. It saved my life.

I hear ya. Ive been sober since Oct 7 2007. training is one of my biggest recovery tools, including AA, NA

Power I go to meetings but never get key tags cause of roids what's ur opinion

I did meetings heavy for the first 2 years then not so much for the next two years and then I had to stop going coz it was going the other way, I was coming back home frustrated and feeling more like a drink than before I went............knew this was no good so found their help was awesome at the beginning but had to now do it own my own . we all have to do it the way it suits us best . whatever keeps you sober.

AA for me my sponsor( nor his sponsor) has no probs with AAS, its not mind or mood altering + lots of my AA frinds train and use a litle AAS..I cant handle all the disruptions at NA meetings to many fukin hugs, too many key chains not enough serious sobriety, every chick is suicidal and most are on scripts cause there all bipolar AT NA ...I know im a dick for talkin like that but, i just find much more help at AA...i qualify for both AA and NA, i loved cocaine , valium, and hard booze equally everday for 20 + yrs

key tags are from NA meetings here in the US they give them out for like day sober, 2 days, 3 days etc... they give out way too many. Just shut the fuk up sit down and listen for the first 6 months of sobriety...lol

YES GET A SPONSOR IMMEDIATELY BRO, made that mistake too many times tryin to do it without one. I was at my first meeting in 1985 and it took me til Oct 2007 at 45 yrs old to finally get it. SPONSOR ASAP

when I fist went i was told to try and do the recommended 90 meetings in 90 days ...well i dint quite make that, but I sure as hell done 60.....used to get at least 4 in on a weekend .
after a bit too you can tell the ones that wont make it first time ......they are too eager to speak .................................as long as they get there in the end

just wanna give props, and big bumps to all you guys. i've never had a problem with drugs and alcohol (my only addiction is being an asshole), but have dated some addicts. it takes a lot of strength and willpower to stay clean, and i respect any person that can do that.

Yep im gettin pretty good at figuring out who has a good chance at makin it Rep, and believe me this does not make me an AA guru by any means i still dont know jack shit, but im still SOBER and still learning how to live sober

well whatever it is you are doing keep doing it, if your still sober it must work if you got .......what............ 14 years in I think was it.
I had to give up every single friend i had because they were all (some have since died ...all in thier 40's too) heavy drinkers.......and I have not replaced any because I now hate people coming to the house.
With training and all that goes with it ( diet , making up my own food, forums) I seem to just need me.
I get lots of laughs at work and have some good blethers with neighbors, ,some good friends I Email , I don't need anyone or anything else. exept my close family that is.

Respect everyone who's staying clean.I myself have a year and some change from oxy and H that' shit has ruined so many of my friends lives and I'm with you Rep I'm only 26 but rarely go out, the gym has really saved me, and thank God for Facebook cause that's where I usually hook up with girls since I don't go out drinking lol. Listen to power bro get a sponsor, I am extremely lucky my ex's father is an ex Hells angel and that's who mine is, he's no nonsense but at the same time he never judges cause he's done some major dirt. I agree with the title of this thread totally! I also read just yesterday, that 17,500 kids go to the ER every year for choking on candy, and that most chocolate bars contain lead. Since chocolate is wrapped in foil most of the time, I guess this is where the lead comes from.

WTF? Why isn't the gov doing something about products we use every day, and effect almost all americans? Probably because the gov would rather spend funds on making the things we enjoy illegal, especially when the chinese own most of our debt & the government borrows 40 cents for every dollar it spends. If I lived like that, I would be broke & not able to afford a .99 burrito.

In my opinion, if people don't know how to chew candy right, wear a seat-belt when they drive a car, or know how to keep their own mouth shut about certain things....we can chalk that up to chlorine in the gene pool.
