Alzado
Whatever the reasons or the hows or whys, johnson and Alzado caused a major upset in the use and even the legal prescribing of AAS to athletes. Also the article written by the gal from sports illustrated on Lyle was bs. I don't remember all of the article but I looked, although it may have been changed but the PDR did not list brain tumors as one of the containdications for the use of AAS or GH at that time. Also when Bill phillips had his magazine which was pro steroid, he had a Dr that was dignosed with aids and he used Nandralone and another steroid to help boost his immune system and wrote monthly on its affects and they were positive. I believe that was close to the beginning of the use of AAS as a positive for helping peoiple with aids. Sadly making the use and possession of AAS a crime and the prescribing of them at that time a crime even for DR's. Taking the use of AAS out of the hands of DR's made the situation even worse as then and now there are those individuals that sell unsterile and unsafe , whatever may be in the vials, to athletes wanting to use them. Alot of athletes got sick and alot of people got ripped off. Our Govt. has a laws that are such a contradiction to the truth its rediculous. Drugs are scheduled 1 thru 5 based on the phyisical and psychological effects on the human body. # 1 has no medical purpose , such as heroin, which I agree should be scheduled as such. But what about the addicting affects of nicotine in tobbacco products and alcohol which is addiciting also. These two drugs have caused more problems and deaths than than AAS ever have or ever will have. The Gov't. will never stop athletes from using AAS so why not put them back into the legal hands of the DR's, and change the laws requiring Dr's to require their patients to have the proper tests done to make sure their patients are healthy while using them. Most politicians don't realy care about the laws they make only about how good it makes them look to the public. There are much bigger evils in the world than AAS , although I agree that anyone selling to high School kids should get into trouble, but lets put the use and prescribing of them back into the hands of the Dr's that know what they are doing. I mean lets face it most Dr's know very little about nutrition much less AAS, so require Dr's that are willing to prescribe to athletes, pass a test of some sort of standard set up by the Govt. with a panel of Dr's that know the subject. Enough said.
