Talking Bulking Up before starting a Cycle...

Good Morning guys (or maybe good evening dependant on were you are in the world)....

As your aware im fairly new to SW and I am looking to start my first cycle very soon....

In my intro post i mentioned that ive had issues with mild anorexia (it may have not been anorexia and just lots of stress but either way i was not eating at all)...

I have been thinking that before I start a cycle I would prefer to add more mass to my frame as a base, and then id feel more comfortable with a cycle on terms of were I would be with weight.

Below ive posted a pic from January of this year were I was at my worst,
6ft 4" and 170lbs.....not a pretty sight. And next to it I have posted a picture of were I am at today. I am currently 180lbs and slowly but surely adding weight of a good kind to my frame, with the correct diet and training which i have learned from BB.com and also my local gym.

Here are the pictures....I personally see a difference in my frame from pic one to pic two, maybe not that much but I think there is.

    JAN - 2010

    May 2010

I am aiming for around 195 - 200lbs before i start a cycle and hopefully I can reach this by the end of my 12 week bulk cycle as im at the start of week three and have gained 8 pounds of good weight and not much body fat. (12 weeks is a guideline - if i need more i can take more time to grow).

My current diet is a straight 7 meals per day. incorporating proteins, carbs and fats. i stick to the same meal plan on a daily basis as if i didnt i would fall short and miss meals etc. At least i know were i stand and I enjoy every meal.

1 - 4 Eggs scrambled on wholemeal toast.
    2 - Protein Shake
    3 Large Bowl of Oats
    4 - 6oz Chicken Breast Slices Wrap
5 - Baked Potato and Beans
    6 - Pasta
    7 - 6oz Chicken Breast Wrap

and a Protein Shake before bed.

I have been sticking to this religiously for the past 3 weeks of my bulk.

Positive and Negative Comments welcome and any critiquing of my diet plan is welcome also...

Cant get off this site already, not posted many times but im forever reading the threads and checking out peoples pictures for inspiration. Thanks for the warm welcome also.

    Sam

I can see a difference in the 2 pictures for sure. I've always been a hard gainer at 6' 1" so I can only imagine at 6'4" how hard it must be. You've got the desire and a plan which is great!

I see your drinking a protein shake at bed which is a must for me if I want weight, is it high calorie?

Also for my appetite I started taking B-12 injections, seemed to really help.

what kind of gear you looking to run?

I can see a small difference between the 2 pics too. I like the way you're thinking. Getting a good base is the way to go. Good for you for not just diving in without the experience in the gym or a game plan. I noticed 3 of your meals have no animal based protein which makes your diet plan seem a little short on protein. Vegetables too are a good thing to add in there (greens.)

I think from advice on here im just going to run a simple cycle of Test E to start with and see were i go from there.... but like i say i want to get a decent base to work on rather than diving in head first....

the shakes are high calorie/protein/fibre also...

I can see what you mean...its hard enough eating as much as I have at the minute but ill defiantely try and incorporate some more animal based proteins too... wasnt quite sure on whether id need to add them in every meal though?

I understand. Well, maybe you can split the difference in your meals. Take out half the carbs and replace it with meat. Meat and greens won't leave you feeling as full as carbs will so you can eat a little more of it. Carbs are good for calories though. Maybe you could look into something to stimulate appetite. Not sure what you could use for that (B-12 maybe) because I've always had a big appetite.

you've got patience which you need. Most dudes want to be huge tommorrow.

I predict a year from now you'll post current pictures and everyone will be amazed at how far you've come.

The Test E cycle would be fine if you're just gauging you're bodies reaction.
My first one was a Test E, EQ, Deca cycle cut in half, I made some small gains but I just wanted to see how I responded. i've never done just a Test E cycle so someone with experience on that would have to chime in. i would imagine though you would get stronger, more muscular, generally feel better and a whole lot hornier.

Seems like you have the perfect setup to make a personal log with pics and the dudes and dudettes on here would critique and advice all the way through. Think about it........i know i would be interested in watching your progress.

i like where your heads out. good game plan.
if you're a true hardgainer (like me) then eating a ton is key. i say eat everythang is sight and putting on "bad weight" will be nearly impossible (at leat for me). i think people that are looking for "lean muscle" that dont have the genetics, will be at it for years and years to gain a little weight. dont be afraid to bulk. hold water, maybe get a little "softer", who cares.
a 12 weeker of test cyp at 500mgs a week and 4-6 weeks of dbol at 30mgs a day to kick start it would suit your fancy. follow up with PCT and continue eating and training and you will like the results.

Bump getting the protein up-get some whey and add a couple of whey shakes in during the day

BTW edit your photos to crop you're head, no need to advertise to the world who you are on a Steroids Website.

bump everyon bro, i am also a hard gainer, you def need to up your protien(1.5 -2.0g per pund in body weight)and dont forget this is a big one, as you gain weight you must take in even more cals. to continue to put on weight.... i def agree wiyh CRAZED, there is no such thing as bad cals. when you are that lean. now i am not saying eat fast food n icecream, but for the most part you need to eat till you have a stomach ache...stretch that stomach so it gets used to holding more.....i used to get up in the middle of the night and eat...my last tip is something that reaaly helped me bulk, its called GOMAD (gallon of milk a day), use whole it has way more cals...maybe start with 1/2 a gallon n build your way up....when i was doing this i was gaining a pund every other day just about......i continued this through my first cycle then dropped it....this is only a temperary thing until you get to your desired weight....one more thing if you do this you may get lactose intollerant...taking lactose pills will help................goodluck bro

The extra 10 lbs looks good brother. Keep going and try to keep it as lean as possible. When you reach a plateau then start the test e. You should get another 20 lbs or so if you train hard and eat alot. Listen, since you mentioned you thought you remember having stones under your nips, I would take arimidex .5mg eod with your cycle. This will keep you estradiol levels from getting too high and possibly causing problems. I would keep some nolvadex on hand too just in case. Be safe brother. Good luck.

Thanks guys, would be better if i was in the same timezone as you lot so i could post a bit quicker to your replies!

I can safely say I am definatley a hard gainer weight wise, from what i can remember i always have been which is a bit of a good thing as ive never been "overweight" with fat and wobbly parts of my body.

I am ex military, when i was in the Army i weight approx 14st (196lbs), but since then the weight has dropped right off, and i really would like to reach that point again. I felt a lot better on terms of health and overall fitness as it was good weight with all the high intensity fitness they put us through. 200lbs is my goal before i start my cycle.

On the GOMAD aspect, we have a milk dispenser in work which is free to use to ive been drinking as much milk as i possibly can throughout my day. Good thing is i love milk so i cant complain with that at all...I will definately keep that up for sure and try to drink more than i already am.

I have noticed this so much, i have been feeling hungry ALL THE TIME...even after a meal, i still feel as if i could eat more. Which for me is a bit of a weird thing as going from not being hungry at all to being hungry every second of the day is a turn around in itself.....

Its good to know that i can basically eat as much and of whatever i fancy as long as i keep the ratios in check. I was a tad concerned that rather than have the gains i wanted i would turn into a blob, but i have not seen much increase in bad weight at all so i think i am on the right track, but definately need to add a lot more proteins to my plan.

Im sure it will be a long road to 200lbs, maybe a few months but I am ok to wait, as i am happy with the gains ive made already and its given me the motivation to carry on. I was always one of these people who wanted a quick fix, but ive learned that time is not an ememy and consistancy and patience will get me to my goals quicker than looking for the quick fix.

    Sam :-)

^^^^I think you're doing pretty good brother. The milk is a great source of protein that we didn't see in your diet plan so that's a good thing. Bring some whey protein powder to work to mix into some of that milk twice a day and you're good. I drink at least a half gallon of milk every day. If I had the room, I'd get a cow lol. You may also benefit from a casein based (slowly digested) protein drink immediately before bed so that your body is getting protein all night.

Great advice, I bump all those that say to increase your protein intake, also see if you can snack all day, a little bit of food every hour or so can do wonders for your overall caloric intake. It doesn't have to be much, just an apple or banana or peanut butter and jelly sandwich (my favorite). also before you go to bed add in a big bowl of ice cream, make it the cheap kind in the big 5 gallon bucket.

Hats off to ya Bro for working hard to overcome adversity..Been there done that, but on the opposite side of the spectrum. (I have a problem with obesity). Why the bird breasts Bro? Unless ya got a problem with cholesteral dump the chicken and add in more red/ fatty meat and pork. Plenty of protien, more calories than in the chicken. Good luck with your goals Bro and keep ius all posted.

Also, if you do start adding more meat to your diet, you may want to get a fiber supplement. When I'm eating lots of meat it's tough to shit which is also why greens are important.
