    What is your view on the PWO shake
    I drink mine in about 5 minute or so as at this time your body is craving for them aminos and can soak up the lot.......................no need to drip feed with this one as the body will assimilate it as it is yearning for it.

    I've read that too. I mix in psyllium husk in my shakes and have to drink it fast b4 it turns to paste. Makes it taste pretty bad too...

    exactly the reason why I started the thread.
    I am with the side where the PWO shake ...no matter how quick you drink it your body WILL absorb it any way quick or slow, it wont make NO DIFFERENCE, coz after a heavy training session your body is crying out for them aminos.......
    But we all have to do what we believe is best for us individually.

    I do the same thing because the banana I mix up in there seems to back me up every once in a while. I had to stop using peanut butter for that reason. The psyllium whole husks I use are made by Yerba Prima and don't taste bad at all.

    that 45 min window along w/ a article i read is why i add in some casein. I read somewhere that a protein blend was better pwo than whey alone.

    Yeah I feel the same and downing it is too easy when youre craving it after a workout. My thought is if you have a 45 min window of oppurtunity and you sip on it throughout that time you will lose some of that oppurtunity. Whey takes about 20min to digest so you would think at the most you need to have it down within 20-25 minutes. The article was based on the efficiency of digesting a little at a time. I dont know about everyone else but my system is use to digesting whole meals with steak and other meats that I usually have down within 10 minutes so Im pretty sure it can handle a 10oz shake all at once.

    I down it straight after workout with my daily vitamins.
    But I'll have something else to eat about an hr later anyway-protein.
