    Default Carb timing

    Hey guys,
Male, 21, 205 pounds, 6'4, been training solidly for the last year. Wanting to put on some natural mass before starting a cycle.

I'm starting to bulk next week and I'm aiming for 600 g of carbs per day (with 275g protein and 60g fat). Should I split the carbs into 6 meals with 100g of carbs in each or taper off throughout the day to avoid a lot of carbs at night. Will look something like this:
    Breakfast - 150g (1.5 hours before session)
    Post-workout shake - 100g (after session)
    Post-workout meal - 150g (1.5 hours after session)
    Meal #4 - 150g
    Meal #5 - 50g
    Meal #6 - 0g

Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

Merc's food list is quite excellent, but I'd lose the peanut butter bigtime.
    Just one man's opinion.

Also, google, "eye round" steak. A trimmed eye round is 97% fat free.
A trimmed pork loin (97% fat free too).

    Good luck,

    Herm

    P.S. Very Important.

Don't confuse "eye round" cut with "Rib eye".

A "Rib eye" steak is the fattiest cut there is (best tasting, too IMHO).

Looks good 2 me.. but you should split up your post workout shake.. r u taking 1 shake with 100grams? If so split it up throughout the day. Take 1 around morning if u want, 1 at lunch and 1 afternoon its better 2 split it out of the day.. king merc did post some good foods up. What cycle are you planning on running. This sounds like you are wanting 2 get a little freaky big.. I would go with 500mg test16 wks 300-400mg Deca 16wks and 50mg-Dbol 6wks kickstart. If this is your first cycle

    Looks pretty good.
I wouldn't even really worry too much about carbs in the later meals though.
    It's a personal choice though.

Thanks heaps for the feedback guys. But I don't know if I can keep away from the peanut butter! haha.

Basiclute - yeah I'm having one shake immediately post-workout with 100g of carbs. Then brown rice/tuna 1.5 hours later which has another 150g of carbs. This is so I can have the majority of my carbs around my workout. I'm preparing for my first cycle which will probably be 10 weeks test e, 400-500mg/week. I want to start off pretty basic. Still researching so I can get my diet in check and optimise my PCT.

    Few more questions:
    1. What are your thoughts on wholemeal bread - I only have 2 slices/day but would you regard this as a 'clean' food?
    2. Fruit? I read that fruit can only refill liver glycogen stores and not muscle glycogen stores. During a bulk, liver glycogen stores would always be full so fruit would only contribute to fat storage.
    3. During a bulk, what has been the most amount of carbs you have eaten in one meal?

During bulking, don't worry too much about fruit and whole grain breads.
During cutting you may want to limit them. Signal made a great line/post the other day saying you don't see bread growing on trees, so no bread!
Apples and cherries ( and a few more that are escaping my mind) are pretty low GI, so they aren't too bad.
I'm not bulking or cutting right now, but just trying to eat a pretty clean diet. I'll eat apples, blueberries (with shakes), strawberries (shakes), and grapefruit. And I've dropped about 6 pounds in the last 3 weeks. Note though, I put on 10lbs i na month before that from binge eating after eating clean all year. lol

"3. During a bulk, what has been the most amount of carbs you have eaten in one meal?"

I don't know, I've had some pretty filthy bulk diets lol.
    Probably 400+
14" hand tossed pizza at pizza hut is 35g per slice. *8 = 280
Add in pepsi, and you're looking around 350.

Haven't bulked in years, so I can't remember what I would eat.
Though fast food atleast once a day, sometimes 3 times a day was the norm, though. lol

Excellent diet advice from the others. I have to add that there's nothing wrong with all natural peanut butter. It contains Omega 3 EFA's and is an excellent dieter's food. It also slows protein absorbtion when taken with a shake.
