    Default Curious about this one

The other day I was at the gym and I spoke with a guy who was training a young lady. Anyways they were through and he and I had a conversation... quickly we got on the topic of nutrition and in the course of the conversation he said that its funny that a lot of guys go for drinks with high numbers of protein when actually the body with only take in 40g at a time the rest is just discarded through urine. So my question to the board is what take do you guys have on this and do you agree with what he said?

I've allways thought that its true, but the thing is everyone is different and I'm sure 40g isn't a fixed number were if you drink 40g after workout your maxed out on protein, what if your Max is 50g then you'd be shorting yourself so its definitely not smart to say oh I've had my Max 40 for the day..id rather stock up and have enough then be short

Im no expert..., however, I think the point is that if your body needs protein to repair the damage done by lifting you should have the amino acids available so the body does not go and scavenge muscle to make those aminos.

So, by taking in too much, you are assured that there will be ample free protein available for the rebuilding.

That 30 gram max is for a 165 pound loser not someone who has been training for yrs like most here, i shoot for 60 PWO and 50 g at each meal. The biiger u are and the longer u been training your body works differently and our requirements are more

Life is tough. It's even tougher if you're stupid
    Stupidity should be painful

Crawling is acceptable. Falling is acceptable. Puking is acceptable. Tears are acceptable. Pain is acceptable. Injury is acceptable. Quitting is unacceptable

To dominate one must be physically, mentally, and spiritually stronger than their opponent. Then, domination is guaranteed.

Nobody said it was easy. No one ever said it would be this fukin hard either!

If im a danger to myself just think what the fuck I can do to you!
