CD's answer is good. Start with that and play with it from there. I have a fast metabolism and can get away with 100 for cutting. I'll cut it back more for carb loading.

You'll drag ass for a day or so during the "switch." You'll start to metabolize fat for energy. That one day energy lull's how I know I'm going into ketosis. I use the test strips daily when I'm drilling down on the diet. Invariably, I'll be in moderate + range the day after the energy drop. After that, it's not a challenge to stay away from the carbs. I carb load one meal per week and I'm back into ketosis 36 hours later, as long as I'm consistent with the same meal time each week.

Pharmacy has them in the diabetes section. They're called ketosis strips. You pee on the end and it changes color if you have ketones in your urine. It's a by product of the fat = energy process.

Wow 50 I'll go between 100-150 if I took 50 I wouldn't be able to remember my name. I used go without any for like 3-4 day and then carb up. I can't do that anymore. I think I had more fat back then. Now I pay more attention to my sugar intake when I'm trying to cut. If I cut out milk alone for a month its crazy what that does when your using 2 gallons a week of skim milk just on shakes that shit is loaded with sugar. Good luck Masstiff go off them slowly or your gonna go bonkers. and when you do consume them make sure there complex and no matter what always consume some right after training or you will go catabolic sorry my bad after training they can be simple.

HMmm I am bulking right now, but I finish off three met-rx meal replacement bars (47 carbs, 30 grams protein) a day + normal food. Hopefully I just get big and not fat.

    day1: 200
    day2: 160
    day3: 120
    day4: 80
    day5: 120
    day6: 80
    Day7: cheat

Divided over first 4 meals. Easy to keep track of and follow.
On 80g days, I'm not too worried about where the carbs come from as they are pretty low.

I like a well rounded meal or a met-rx meal replacement bar. The meal replacement bars are simple... don't have to cook and they did the work to make sure that the ingredients are right for strength gain and maintenance.

Sorry, I forgot we were talking about cutting. I'll let someone else chime in on this, I'm not a pro at being "cut" lol I like eating too much.

But, bananas, carrots, and veggies are probably the best way to take in carbs.
