So I was watching those Milos Sarcev vids on diet and he's a firm believer in taking in simple carbs immediately after lifting. He says it helps replace glycogen more effectively and gives better gains. I wanted to know if any of you guys do this and if it helps.
When I get off Palumbo and start bulking again, I'm thinking about giving it a try. What I'm thinking is putting ice cream in my PWO shake, but am open to any suggestions if you have any. |

i put straight up sugar in my PWO shake, i guess it seems to help. my body is so spent after lifting that i reckon my muscles are sucking up anything and everything that goes in, energy levels go back up and all.
as far as ice cream, i am some sure Gman will ring in on that, he is the dairy queen round these parts, lol

Ya I guess I could use sugar or even get some dextrose or something, but ice cream would be much more delicious. Its the fat from the ice cream that I think is the real problem, but it's not a whole lot just saturated.

dextrose is good for post workout drink. I like dextrose over sugar, cause dextrose is already broken down for absorption. my .02

No Poindexter. Immediately after a workout taking in simple carbs raises your insulin levels, which aids in rushing the protein and fuel (carbs) to ur muscles. It is also effective first thing in the morning when breaking the fast since ur last meal.

Fast digesting protein whey, and fast digesting carbs like chocolate milk, gatorade, gummi bears , dextrose etc immediately after your workout...I thought everyone knows / does this?
