Default Bent over rows pain coming from stomach!

So I was doing bent over barbell rows only 225lbs on the bar nothing crazy, strict form as always and all of a sudden it felt like i got shot with a nail gun in the lower left area of my stomach like just below my belly button and to the left. I actually had to take a knee because the pain was so bad, then in about 2 mins it subsided. what do you guys think the is could have been or could be? Thanks

Hernia maybe? I've never experienced one, so can't say for sure.

My same thoughts, get checked over by doc this is not something to pass off for another time could be serious damage and recover time..... hopefully it is just a tweaked muscle in abdominal covering...

Definately sounds like a hernia. Get it checked out Bro, Those can end up being serious. I know..I've had one and had to have the surgery for repair.

I have had two surgeries to repair hernias. If it were a hernia I dont think the pain would subside that quickly. When you feel the area, do you notice anything?

Bump... I always wear a weight belt when training except for abs and cardio. I t protects against hernia injury as well as back injury and I've had both!

I had surgery for hernia and it was about 2-3 inches away from my third leg so I would say it sounds like a high area for a hernis but I'm basing that on the assumption that all hernias are likely to be like mine was which is probably not so. I've had some pretty crazy gas pains though and I think I would repeat that exercise if I were you to see if it happens again.

i have had this happen to me quit a few times. and actually happend last night doing tbar rows (wearing a belt as always). funky pain in abdomin, cant stand fully erect for a a minute or two, sharp pain, then goes away. i usually hunch over for a minute and just push on area then it feels fine. of all the times this here has happened over the years i have never had it checked out (no health insurance, am poor, no doc visits unless i am half dead or cut off a limb or something ) and i have been "fine" (or i assume). i have had it in middle and lower abdomin. i always thought if you got you a hernia then it would pertrude out some and would have you a big o bump you could feel under skin?? i dunno. if it bothers you further and you can afford a doc visit then have it checked out.

When I had mine, I could make the intestines push through the abdominal wall at will. I would push like I was trying to shit and it would just pop out. No pain though. Mine didn't cause me any pain at all actually. My brother had it the same way I did and his was extremely painful and had to be operated on immediately after it happened. I had mine for over a year and finally got sick of looking at the lump. Chances are if you have reoccuring pain, something is wrong.

LOL Bump.

Could well be a hernia-even a slight tear. I would get it checked to be safe.
