So now can everyone PLEASE stop hating on Fedor? Or is Cain the next "best ever" like Lesnar was to everyone? The HW division is extremely weak in the UFC right now.

On another note I was disappointed by some of the fights I thought would be good. Especially Jake Shields...what a boring fight.

Oh, but if you didn't see the undertaker and brock have words after the fight you have to see it. You can also see MC Hammer and Kevin James hanging around.

That was pretty interesting video. Curious what it really means. UFC heavyweight division might be weak right now but is it as weak as Strikeforce's? Seriously, I wish there was some way to merge leagues & integrate. Not likely, but can still wish.

I still think SF has better HW's then UFC. I mean come on, UFC had to resort to Couture vs James Toney as a main event.

So, can a decent HW expect to get paid more to fight @ SF than @ UFC?

Depends on who you are. For most fighters you will make more in UFC. But then you are restricted to only fight for UFC and are limited in what you can do with your "brand". Some fighters that fight in SF are signed to the "Dream" promotion, some fight in K-1. Much more flexibility in that sense. But for the most part UFC is the best place for the fighters to be.

I think it's logical to assume that the best talent will fight where they can make the most money. With that said, Fedor makes WAY more with his situation than he ever could w/UFC. Individual sponsorships and promotional payments are much better for UFC guys b/c they get so much more exposure in that arena. Individual fight purses follow suit too. Tough to argue that SF is a better league than UFC based on these criteria.

Hopefully, SF can gain momentum and become a stronger rival to UFC. Then we could see pairings between champs from each league, just like the AFL and the NFL back in the day. THAT would be amazing for us as fans.

Well, some of the best HW's fight in Japan and Europe and make big endorsement money. They fight in several different promotions which allows them to fight more often. Overeem is a top level K-1 fighter and MMA fighter. Josh Barnett makes a lot of money in Japan, he is very popular there. Fedor makes A LOT of money from fighting and from other avenues. Plus he gets his red devil team members deals as well. Dont forget he loves competing in Sambo, and UFC wouldn't allow him to do that. Damn CD, you are stubborn! I never said SF was better, its not. But they have some good fighters, some better than UFC. That is especially true of Heavyweights. Look at what just happened. First everyone was on Brock's nuts, then Carwin got a lot of buzz. Carwin lost and now Brock lost. So now all of the sudden Cain is the best? When Dos Santos beats him, will he be the best? UFC are the marketing masters. Take a look at who Cain has fought Cain Velasquez MMA Stats, Pictures, News, Videos, Biography, and More - Sherdog.com
Bunch of scrubs except for Big Nog, and he is done.

I dont think SF will ever be much bigger than it is today. I think its too hard to compete against UFC at this point, they are so powerful and they try their best to crush any competitor. When Pride was around their were two strong organisations, but Pride was way more exciting and had the better fighters. After they collapsed and UFC bought them (just to shut them down) no other promotion has been able to gain much ground.

IDK about Sambo, I am stubborn but you've def convinced me that the best fighters aren't automatically going to fight UFC. Fedor proves that. Wish he'd jump in for a few bouts just to make the point.

UFC did the same as other big businesses. They buy the competitor to eliminate them.

Now I have to watch Overeem and Barnett.

Fedor is part owner of Strikeforce, thats why he's over there and not in the UFC. I think GSP is the best ever! fuck Silva he just get chumps to fight. I think my pussy ass could beat the guys Silva has beat up.

I am with you Wetty. GSP is amazing. The only issue is that he seems to not have that killer instinct sometimes or he is playing it safe. That can backfire... But GSP is the man. Silva has skills but his mind is weak.
