Default It's Never Too Late

Hey Guys,

I know I've been chatting it up over a month and realized I've never actually done an intro. I'm a former Marine. I went to college to be a fitness specialist and more or less used that knowledge to my own benefit. The job market took me in a different direction and so I've never formally worked as a fitness trainer. I gave up drinking for good on Feb 27th of this year and now that the system is clean of all toxins I decided to use all my extra time to concentrate on getting the ole bod in bad ass shape. One of the motivating factors for doing this is the fact that I hope to open a self defense school sometime in the near future but didn't want to step in front of students while not being in the best shape possible. Thanks everyone for all your help so far and all the help I'm sure I will get from you guys in the future.

Welcome SupaDude...it certainly is Never Too Late!! Keep up the good work

I gave up alcohol completely just over three years ago at the age of 37, as I decided to change my lifestyle. I wouldn't say I was a heavy drinker, but I did binge drink 2 to 3 times a week. I was also nearly 1701bs in weight. I turned 40 this year. I am now 1201bs, work out at least 5 times a week and I feel younger and fitter now than I did when I was in my 20s and 30s!!!

Life is tough. It's even tougher if you're stupid
Stupidity should be painful

Crawling is acceptable. Falling is acceptable. Puking is acceptable. Tears are acceptable. Pain is acceptable. Injury is acceptable. Quitting is unacceptable

To dominate one must be physically, mentally, and spiritually stronger than their opponent. Then, domination is guaranteed.

Nobody said it was easy. No one ever said it would be this fukin hard either!

If im a danger to myself just think what the fuck I can do to you!

Congrats Power!!! I used to joke that I went to drinking school (USMC). I wasn't an everyday drinker, I could go weeks/months without tying one on. Then I would get a spur in my ass and decide I wanted to let loose which of course always involved tying one on. Let's just say looking back on it all I can't really say there are any positive moments that I can contribute to drinking unless you consider getting laid a positive moment. I just had a bad Friday night earlier this year and said the hell with drinking and that was it. Believe it or not I typed what I call an Alcohol Covenant between God and I on Sunday of that weekend and then had my wife meet me at the dining room table and read it to her. I then signed it and had her sign it as a witness. We then prayed over it and it is now kept with my important documents. Since then I haven't had a drink nor have I craved one. I'm not trying to preach religion to anyone here but this is an actual true story as to how I quit. You have no idea all of the positive things that have happened since I quit and it just keeps getting better.

I would advise caution on that statement because you never know what life WILL throw in front of you and can test your resolve and sobriety to the limit. Its early for you yet but you will even experience your own head throwing in a test every now and again so beware, this is not easy not by a long shot.
for those who say it is are not alcoholics
Even after 15 years I WILL NEVER LET MY GUARD DOWN........................EVER!!

May your god go with you brother and good luck in your journey .
Ps ) it does get easier with every year that goes by.
