Alright I brewed and everything went beautifully.
HOWEVER I am now staring at my sealed vials and there are 3 tiny black specs sitting at the bottom of the vial and they moved around when i shake it. These had to have been in the vial already... Im actually pretty positive it may be a piece of the rubber stopper. From what ive read I can just refilter. But do you guys think I can pull the gear out and run it through another whatmen into a fresh sealed vial? Last edited by singleton_in2014; 06-20-2010 at 09:01 PM. |

i wouldnt see why not. I just brewed some deca and had the same black specs, i know it wasnt the rubber though because when the deca suspended it was in there. I filtered them out and everything is ok now.

its the stopper, ive been homebrewing for years and have noticed it only happens with certain sterile vial companies and not at all with others.
