delivery tracking # question

I finally got a tracking number from a source to track my package. My question is when I track it it shows its been at postal and ready to ship since 4/4? Why would it sit for 8 days? Is this normal? Also the date shows it arrived 12/4/10? Im assuming months are different in countries I hope. Im hoping 12 means 4? Any feed back is appreciated.

12/4/10 would probably mean today listing it day/month/year. Intl pkgs sit for days bro. At least that's been my experience. Just keep cool.

Ok my dvds were sent to US by airmail form Israel on the 13th of April. The usps has no record of my number. Is this normal? How long if its shipped by airmail does it take to get here? THX

Usually the tracking number won't work til it hits the US. Be patient, it's coming.
