Infection Question

If you inject unsterile gear, what is the time frame before you would know for sure that you have an infection?

Need answers based on fact... If you don't honestly know the answer then don't answer the question.

There is no way to give an exact answer. It depends on what microbe is present, how much of the microbe is injected, how virulent the strain of microbe is, the exact location of the injection and the condition of your immune system.

I have been here a few times however the sytoms can range differently from person to person. The first sign is redness and sore/tenderness to the touch and as a rule of thumb most will have these systom with a day or two. But its not unusual for some to start experiencing these systom much sooner within hours or they may even manifest themselves a week later.

Also remember at the first sign If it starts to get red just ICe it and warm wet compresses alternate 4 times a day. This should help bring your body's goodies to the yard an help fight the infection. And because Action everyone is different and their immune system will be different also. This has alot to do with infectious indication and how well and quick they will heal. If you are uncertain of an infection and are having unwanted pain in the area i would suggest you go to the ER if all else fails. U.R

It depends on the culprit . It can take anywhere from minutes to a day or so. Like Laf said there is no real time constraints. But I would have to say for most it wouldn't take a long time.

I personally have seen it take minutes, like within 30 seconds he coughed and had a fever within an hour.

Yep...When injecting you bypass the body's primary line of defense, the skin. After that, if the pathogen reproduces quickly...you have a problem.
