Default Sleeping Meds

I'm heading down to the doc today cause I'm sleeping like shit, I've been waking up half a dozen times per night all dehydrated and with a dry mouth.... all the melatonin & valerian root in the world won't work for me at the moment, I'm feeling flatter & flatter each day so I need something that works. Anybody have any expierience with presciption sleeping meds?

Bads, I have been having the same exact problem lately minus the dry mouth. I take Imovane. It helps cause I do shiftwork. Only problem is the body gets used to it rather quickly. Also a side effect of it is you get a copper taste in your mouth and sometimes you feel drowsy the next day. It works like a charm though.

There are a lot of good ones out there, and they al tend to act a little differently.

Sleep should be a given. Because there are too many perfectly legal and legit ways to get all of it you need.

Melatonin works for me, but if it didn't I would get somethig stronger.

The dry mouth can be worked with a product called "Thayers Dry Mouth Spray"
You can get it at the drug store, Walgreens, etc.
It is an all natural solution that protects your mouth and gums.
Dry mouth can be bad for your gums, teeth, etc.

Default ambien

ambien is the best option but it can be addictive... stay away from seroquel it can fuck with your sugar levels and make you gain weight, and there is a small risk of diabetes.. trazadone gives you middle of the night wood, its like a kick stand.... most off is to make sure you have 8 hours to sleep , because ive heard of people getting in accidents because they took the ambien and had to be up 5 hours later...... good luck bro, but my sleeping habits are the same i wake up several times a night so i feel ur pain

I have had sleeping problems for around five years now. I have tried everything. The cheap stuff does not work for me or gives me a hangover feeling the next day.
Ambium ($3 a pill but just came out with a generic that works good) works great, knocks you out in 15 minutes but only last four hours so if your a light sleeper you may need something else, if you stay up anyway or try to fight it you start to hallucinate.
Ambium CR ($3 a pill) kind of knocks you out but half of it is time released so you sleep for eight hours.
Lunesta ($3 a pill) works good, slowly fall asleep but last only around four hours.

Sig, as said Ambien CR is a time release med meant to keep you asleep for 8hrs. I have used this and it works well, but if I would wake up like say in 5 hrs I felt groggy. My soulution pill cutter. I just take half the dose and sleep very sound.

He will most likely give you Ambien, wich is what most doc's are prescribing now a days. But take the advise from the bro's. Make sure you get a good 8 hours. I know my mom takes them and if she doesnt get a full 8 hours she groggy most of the day. She real sensitive to meds so even half of a 5mg one puts her out good. I also heard that Jack Nicholson had a bad experience with them falling a sleep while driveing his car because of it. So be careful!

Sig Ive had the same prob for about 2 yrs now but mine is mainly anxiety induced. You talk about the women you play with so talk them into a nice massage every night and occasionally drop a non-narcotic muscle relaxer and you will sleep like a baby.... works for me lol

b-real is right, in fact, my sleepiness is one of my excuses to have something going on everyday (almost) still with my wife....she knows that otherwise I wouldn't be able to sleep so, she giggles with me under the sheets.....LOL

Yes, I've never heard of a doc making a big deal about prescribing it to anyone. The time release ambium which is ambium CR is safer since you do not hallucinate as bad, so docs feel better writing the script than the regular. I get both because sometimes I can't get 8 hours but need to fall asleep fast.

"temazepam" I believe is a "benzo" drug. Anything ending with a "pam" at the end I believe is a benzo so be careful with them as they can be addicting. If you tell the doc you dont want any benzo's believe me he wont have any problem giving you a script for the ambien.

I would, but a complete rectal exam is necessary..

Seriously, if that is what is working for a particular patient, the doc should have no issue in accommodating that request.

xerostomia or dry mouth is symptom that is a little unusual for a diagnosis of hypertension......unless you are taking some drugs (anti-hypertensives) that have an anti-cholinergic actions and that can lead to xerostomia.
