A QUICKIE ON TESTOSTERONE AND ESTROGEN Testosterone converts to estrogen, because of this, elevated levels of testosterone lead to elevated levels of estrogen. To avoid the estrogen related side effects (bloating and gynecomastia) , bodybuilders take drugs classified as Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator (SERM) or Aromastize Inhibitors (AI). Serms hide estrogen while AIs destroy estrogen. Common SERMs are Nolvadex or Clomid. Common AIs are Aromasin, Armidex, and Letrozole. Letrozole is the strongest of the AIs and the only one that is proven to reverse existing estrogen induced gyno. All AIs and SERMs will help prevent gyno. A QUICKIE ON PCT Elevated levels of testosterone induced by a steroid cycle convert to, and increase estrogen. When the artificial testosterone is stopped the estrogen is still elevated. Because the human body converts testosterone to estrogen, when estrogen levels are elevated the body does not think it is ‘safe’ top produce more testosterone. This is the main reason why PCT is so important. To trick the body into producing more testosterone, the bodybuilder needs to hide or destroy the elevated level of estrogen. To do this, the bodybuilder takes an reasonable high dosage of a SERM and/or AI. Once the estrogen is destroyed or completely hidden. The body starts to produce natural testosterone again.
